Kathryn Joy, LMT

I have always had a curious mind which has taken me on the “road less traveled” in pursuit of the meaning of life and self-discovery. As a teenager and young adult, I had many adventures including sweat lodges, sacred pipe ceremonies, drumming circles, fire walks, self-discovery seminars, and wilderness adventures. I achieved my degree in psychology, and then worked for hospice until my curiosity turned me toward acting. Comedy and improv were my favorites, appreciating the healing properties of well-timed humor. Seeing the world in a ridiculous or exaggerated way can often shake loose stuck viewpoints. To quote Oscar Wild, “Life is too important to be taken seriously”.

I started studying energy techniques at age 17, adding Usui Reiki to my studies. Furthering my education, I became a licensed massage therapist, now celebrate over 20 years as a massage therapist and bodyworker. Currently, I am studying a spiritual psychology called The 3 Principles. I have had private coaching based on the book “Creating the Impossible” (Michael Neill) and the Three Principles of Syndy Banks. I completed a one-year international coaching program called The Heart of Service in March of 2025. Furthering my massage studies, in November of 2025 I completed an Oncology Massage Course (OM). Having received the diagnosis myself, this is very near and dear to me. The nurturing touch of OM during and after active treatment for cancer is invaluable. Meanwhile, I continue my studies in T’ai Chi, which has been both personally and professionally beneficial. I am profoundly grateful for my life’s path, the many mentors along the way, and all the clients I have been honored to work with!
